New Years is always a time for reflection for me; what have I done over the past year to make it a memorable one? For me, 2017 was one of the most amazing years of my life! Not only did I finish university with a degree in Biochemistry, I also moved to the other side of the world to teach. It had always been a dream of mine to travel and see the world, and I can think of no better place than China to start my 2018. As well, in Britain we often make "New Years resolutions". These are promises we make to ourselves to improve ourself in the year to come. So far in my life I have only made and stuck to one such resolution-stop taking sugar in my tea! I think my resolution this year is just as attainable; work hard and improve my Chinese. I hope we can all continue to work together to improve our school throughout the following year.

For the New Years celebration this year, the english teachers decided to put on a play, "Cinderella". The children of Grade 5 all worked so hard, and looked amazing on the stage singing and dancing together. I think a special thanks should also be given to Mandy, Alice, and Jenny, who all worked extra hours every day for weeks so that it would be ready on time. They really are truly amazing teachers who give so much back to the children.

I wish you all an amazing 2018!
