On September 1^st, the opening ceremony for the brand-new academic year of 2016, as well as the launching ceremony for the 4^th training camp for good characters, was solemnly held in Tanghu Elementary School.

First of all, Principal Li gave her speech on “To inherit the Olympic spirit, to be competent individuals”. She shared many touching deeds and historical breakthroughs from Chinese athletes in the Rio Olympic Games. She brought us a soul-stirring news that our school basketball team had won great achievement in the 13^th Sports Meeting of Chengdu, which motivated all of the students and teaching staff to learn from the Olympic spirit.

Then, there appeared 23 new teachers and one representative of Grade One on the stage to meet with us.

Next, 28 students from 5.1 Squadron marched vigorously, just like our Olympic heroes on the posters they were holding. As two representatives from the students, Kan Xinyu and Zhang Lanfang enthusiastically told us many impressive Olympic stories; such as the splendid and moving badminton game between Lin Dan and Li Zongwei and how the Chinese volleyball team won the game incredibly from a desperate situation. Thanks to these Olympic heroes, we eventually understand the profound Olympic spirit that the pursuit of dreams demands our full strength at the thing we focus on, no matter succeed or lose so long as we keep trying our best.

At last, Director Lei from the Moral Education Department stated some specific strategies about how to train students’ characters of responsibility and willpower. The autographs of the teaching staff as well as the students reveal their strong determination to do it.

Let’s learn from those Olympic heroes who struggle for the glory of our country with indomitable spirit and who are coadjutant and unassuming. To inherit the Olympic spirit, to be competent individuals! Anyway, to be the best of yourself!
